Two days ago I brought home my 4 year old 16.3 HD gelding from trainer Mark Jensen’s, in order to get some one on one time with my horse while Mark is gone to the Medford Summer Circuit.
I’m a Select Rider ( over 50) and this is the tallest horse I’ve ever ridden. I find it quite intimidating to be on a horse this size since I’m used to 15.3 HD and smaller. But this gelding is a gentle giant and I just love his personality.
I also love his movement and my ride today was awsome. It was smooth, slow, cadenced, quiet and in a word just GREAT!
While he has a ways to go before I’d say he is totally broke ( are they ever?), this is going to be a fun two weeks with him at home.
